Last Christmas was not a good one for Daniel Fairfax. He woke in the night, knowing something was wrong and found that the water table had risen so high that the basement of the salon was underwater. Stock and furniture were floating in flood water. Disaster!
Not to be beaten, he has turned adversity to a positive and taken the opportunity to give the salon a full makeover to celebrate 10 years in Laleham.
Having run the in house salon in the Runneymede Hotel on the Thames near Windsor he wanted to go independent. As parts of his business development he bought and restored the beautiful Victorian building in Laleham-Upon-Thames in 2003. The building’s history and central village location had huge appeal. As the family butchers for many years and then an antiques shop in the 1970’s the shop had a long tradition as part of Laleham community.
This all resonated with Daniel who wanted to keep tradition alive and be an integral part of village life. Daniel became a member of the old Laleham Society (now the Laleham Residents Association). He also runs the fun Dog Show in the village which takes place annually on the first Saturday of July (next fair 5th July 2014). He has been involved in the Laleham Gardens Open Day and donates his salon as a hub for village life often running charity events. Over the years he has raised £60,000 for Cancer charities.
Somehow in the middle of all that activity he has opened a second salon in West Byfleet and has plans for further expansion. What energy!
The renovations in Laleham have included the Courtyard Garden where clients have enjoyed this beautiful summer. Daniel has finished a total redecoration of both salons including a secluded indoor Garden Room at Laleham for the exclusive use of our many Great Lengths hair extensions clients. The salon has recently been awarded the accolade of “Gold Salon” status by Great Lengths for their achievements in this field.
Daniel’s ethos is simple; He wants to provide a professional level of hair hairdressing in an intimate and friendly atmosphere that represents good value for money. The salon is beautiful and one gets the impression that both clients and the building are in good hands!
