Following a successful community open day at St Peter’s Hospital in July, the Trust will be opening the doors of Ashford Hospital to the public on Saturday 25th November, 10am-3pm. This will be a first for Ashford Hospital and a great opportunity for the public to see what goes on and the different services that are available there.
The open day is free and all are welcome – patients, families, carers, schools, local busi-nesses, stakeholders and partners – for a cele-bratory, fun, engaging and interactive day to help local people feel part of the Trust.
There will be a great range of activities throughout the day for all ages, including interactive stands and demonstrations, theatre tours and health and wellbeing advice. Front-line clinical colleagues will be on hand to share their knowledge and expertise, our re-cruitment team will be promoting the varied career opportunities within the NHS and our award-winning catering staff will be offering food and refreshments in the Wellbeing Hub, which is normally only available to our staff.
Julie Smith, Chief Executive, Ashford and St Peter’s Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust said: “The event in July at St Peter’s saw hundreds of people coming in to experience the hospi-tal in way they wouldn’t normally. It was wonderful to see people enjoying themselves, getting involved in the various interactive activities and gathering an array of infor-mation that was on offer. It was a good op-portunity to showcase our services and staff, and to promote some of the work we’re doing as an anchor institution, working more close-ly with our local communities. I’m really pleased to be able to host this event at Ash-ford, as we provide a completely different range of services there and look forward to meeting more of the community groups, local to the hospital. Please do come along on 25th November and keep up to date about the event on our website and social media chan-nels”.
