Coffin Clubs are popping up all over the UK and it certainly provides a great way of getting people to talk about end of life and know the options. The founders of Coffin Club UK are passionate about funerals being a celebration of someone’s life and a personalised occasion. The Brigitte Trust has affiliated to Coffin Club UK and will be running Coffin Club Surrey.
Coffin Club Surrey is an educational course aimed at anyone over the age of 18 years living in Surrey. You do not have to have any plans to die soon! This course is for anyone as we can all benefit from having the knowledge around death and funerals and the options available.
We aim to educate and demystify death and funeral options by giving you an opportunity to listen to and discuss your end-of-life options with different speakers such a Celebrant, a funeral director, a Soul Midwife, a Reverend, Clandon Wood Natural Burial Ground, and a crematori-um manager.
There is an optional coffin decorating workshop too. The coffin is an eco-friendly reinforced cardboard coffin with weight bearing rope handles. The coffin can hold up to 26 stone and is 6ft 1 in length. This coffin costs £136.00. We will provide you with the art materials and some artistic support. You will need to take the coffin home with you at the end of the course.
