We attended the official opening of the new Woodward Building at Halliford School last month. What a fabulous addition this is. From start to finish the three storey building went up in 21 weeks. The design is modular, cho-sen to be the fastest build with the least im-pact on locals. Named after school Chair of Governors, Ken Woodward, the building houses the new li-brary and study space as well as classrooms for English and History. It is bright, airy and full of technology to support student learning. The building is also designed to be sustainable and carbon neutral in only 8 years. The roof space has been covered in solar panels. James Davies, Headmaster at Halliford School, said, “The Woodward Building offers state-of-the-art modern facilities for our students and provides exciting, stimulating spaces for them to work both independently and collaboratively with our new Learning Resource Centre at the heart of the school site. Our students will be able to learn more about this technology with the interactive display in the building showing our energy production and consumption”.
