There is a new tea room opened locally which is well worth a visit. Dramatize tea room is in the little square of shops on Hetherington Road and is very special. It has been set up to support adults with learning disabilities who are being trained in the hospitality sector.
Sunbury Matters took a relaxed afternoon tea to experience the service at leisure. There is a variety of interesting teas, as well as good old English Breakfast tea! Cakes are baked by the team and are fresh and tasty. We opted for a couple of mini carrot cake squares, which were incredible, and an orange cake, beautifully presented.
Tea was served in a china tea pot. All the plates are a mix of designs, all served with style. Glasses are also stylish and original in design. If you fancy splashing out a bit, you can have a glass of something. We were treated to prosecco and G & Tea, a cocktail I found really rather delightful if somewhat unusual!
Staff are helpful, professional and the whole experience was a real treat. We sat outside in com-fy chairs in the sunshine. Inside there are many stage related posters and memorabilia, including a stage “booth” for photo opportunities.
Dramatize café is open 10-4 Tuesday to Sunday.
