The Sunbury Amateur Regatta Committee, has taken the difficult decision to cancel the event for 2021. Whilst the pathway out of lockdown is promising, the remain-ing uncertainty and potential for last-minute change, creates too great a financial risk. We know this will be disappointing for many and we are very conscious that the Regatta has been an important part of Sunbury’s Summer calendar since 1877. The reason for taking this decision, in these extraordinary circumstances, is to ensure the event remains part of Sunbury’s life for another 144 years at least. Looking forward to brighter times, we are in need of volunteers both on the day for delivery and throughout the year on the Committee for planning and supplier management purposes. The date for 2022 is Saturday 13th August.
