Aquarius Performing Arts is a Musical Thea-tre class for children aged 4-12. Specialising in the three disciplines of Musical Theatre, acting, dancing & singing, each of our stu-dents have the opportunity to enhance their skills by working towards a presentation for parents at the end of term. We encourage them to perform well both on and off the stage, and whilst growing in confidence, stu-dents express themselves through the escap-ism of theatre.
Alongside our classes, our Musical Magic Holiday Workshops are extremely popular, offering students the chance to learn a musical in just a few days, as well as make their own set or props during their arts & crafts sessions. With classes running in both Sunbury on Thames and South West London, Aquarius Performing Arts continues to expand.
Principal, Claire Leonard, is a Musical Thea-tre trained professional and has been teaching both children & adults for almost 10 years. A passionate and enthusiastic performer & teacher, she believes that the Performing Arts is is one of the most important skills anyone can learn, no matter their age or ability.
During Lockdown I created free online videos so that children could learn songs from home. These are all available for free to anyone if you want to take part and have some fun. The photo opposite shows the children at dress rehearsal just before lockdown as they were preparing for their show. They were in fact scheduled to put their show on the day of Lockdown itself!
Aquarius Performing Arts classes are held Tuesdays at St Mary’s Parish Hall, and in January 2021 will be opening a new Senior class, for students aged 12+.
