Jan Lancaster (pictured) decided she needed to find a focus during lockdown last year. She had retired from a career in office management some 4 years earlier, but lockdown gave her time to think. She decided that at the marvellous age of 67 she was going to launch her first business. What a brilliant thing to come out of such a situation. Jan wanted a business which she enjoyed, which was manageable, and where she could use her people skills. She decided jewellery would be a good product to sell. We all need a treat to make us feel good at this time and as the products are well priced, they are accessible to all. So Blue Jade Jewellery was born, a logo created, stock selected and the website went live before Christmas. Take a look at www.bluejadejewellery.co.uk. There is a range of items, from rings to bracelets and necklaces to earrings. Blue Jade Jewellery is also a brand partner for Swarovski. Jan is offering 10% off your first order and will deliver to you if you are local to Shepperton. Alternatively, you can order and pay online and products can be sent to you.
The Covid pandemic has caused much suffering but there are also many stories of positive change. This was Jan’s chance to think about what she wanted to do and follow her dream. It shows, it is never too late to start your own business. Just be brave!
