Spelthorne Borough Council has honoured 32 children as ‘Spelthorne Litter Heroes’ for taking part in litter picks across the Borough.
The children, who were nominated by the group Spelthorne Litter Pickers, have been sent a certificate signed by the Mayor of Spelthorne, Cllr Colin Barnard.
The Council are showing their support for litter picking groups in the Borough by promoting events and providing equipment as well as a point of contact who arranges any help they may require to ensure the tasks are done safely and efficiently. SBC have also been engaging with the public through the #NoRubbishExcuses campaign to try and bring about behav-ioural change in Spelthorne. The council wants to encourage residents to take pride in their surroundings and to honour further children with the title of ‘Spelthorne Litter Hero’.
The first 32 litter heroes are: Rory Barnes, Henry Brown, Kamrun Dusanjh, Rohal Dusanjh, Eden Gurd, Ishana Gurd, Liam Harrington, Lewys Jenson, Nevaeh Jenson, Olivier Jen-son, Lydia Mouawad, Zac Kinslingbury, Liam McBride, Riley McBride, Eric McKenna, Lilly McKenna, Ollie Miles, Rosa Miles, Leo Miles, Sonny Minas, Nadia Mouawad, Aoife O’Neill, Ellisa Pawson, Gabriella Pawson, Malik Santoudji, Marlow Somerville-Cairns, Anya Stevenson, Joe Tippell, Max Tippell, Lewis White and Oscar White.
