Well…. 2020 hasn’t been a great year for any cheer …Christmas or otherwise!
However, we must galvanise ourselves, shake off the dust and look forward to Christmas, none-the-less .
Although Big Tree Night will not be happening in 2020, we, on the Big Tree Night committee, will still be hard at work getting the shops to order their fully adorned Christmas trees and putting them up along the High Street by 1st December. We will also be testing the BIG TREE lights themselves and getting them twin-kling by December.
….BUT …. it is YOU – the people of Shepper-ton – who have the success of Shepperton’s Christmas in your hands….you have a job to do as well. Support your High Street in this difficult year by using the shops and services that Shepperton provides for you.
We have some new faces on the High Street – our new bakery – JAMZ …with Maz, Tammy and Jon …plus other family members – all ready to serve you with a large range of bread, sa-vouries and cakes … and also a cup of coffee and more from their café.
We also have a new hairdresser … Sisu & Glow – Jade is your lady there! … … King Clip-pers -the new barbers in town !…. And more fitness help from Aaron and colleagues at Aspire who are setting up alongside them…. all in the row near McAteer’s – opposite Station Road .. … Good to see them – we wish them well .
Very shortly…if not already… you may have spotted Colour Me Crazy .. a new hairdresser just opening up on the corner – by the mobile phone shop… You may recognise Kate there … from EM Tanning !
Brilliant ! A flurry of new faces in the High Street ! A welcome sight.
CHRISTMAS is coming …. Our fabulous butchers – Daines & Gray and James will be load-ing up with Turkeys and other festive birds …as usual. The girls in Quality Fruit will have all your veggie and fruit needs to complete the traditional Christmas platter !
Get your Christmas cards from Jukan & Sulo at Felicitations and Yags & Nish at High Street News… they will also have your festive TV programme guides of course.
Sainsbury and the Co op are gearing up already with the incredible array of festive foods and drink…. With Boots and Trio standing by with all your needs for over-indulgence …. as if!!
All our traders are gearing up for the Christmas period … Your hardware needs at Homecare as well. … and all the hair and beauty services you’ll ever want from our Nails, Tanning and Hairdressing parlours. Phew!

In all this …I have not mentioned “covid” or “pandemic” … It’s there of course… but so is CHRISTMAS.
