So with the evenings now lighter and warmer, this is the time of year that we always see an uplift in vehicle crime.
This is especially so in beauty spot car parks. Regardless of which make, alarm system or locks you have on your car it will never deter a budding thief from smashing the window especially if you leave tantalising goodies such as IPADS, handbags Mobile Phones and wallets on show. Please hide them from view, or even better please don’t leave them at all.
Mopeds have recently been targeted for theft, not only taken from the street but also from garages and driveways. These are usually abandoned after they have been driven recklessly and some are sold to unsuspecting buyers. To help us with this please report any anti-social riding of Mopeds and if you have a Moped think about securing it with a lock when unattended. Please do not buy cheap Mopeds without checking they are not stolen you can do this via a police preferred site https://www.bikeregister.com/bike-checker. Only whilst I write this reports we have reports of a Moped recklessly riding down the river side on the towpath. Please call all anti-social behaviour to us. Although we may not be able to respond straight away we do look at where it occurs and put plans in place to visit these areas and work with our local Council Joint Enforcement Team to combat it.
Keep our open spaces safe. It is more important than ever that everyone can enjoy the numerous lovely open spaces that we are lucky to have in the local area. We have had reports of fires and BBQ damage to the land as well as damage and graffiti to trees. Other reports include fly tipping and general anti-social behaviour. Once again please report this in when you see it on 101 or via the website.
We are still out fighting crime and keeping you safe. We are also working closely with our councils and partner agencies to ensure all our vulnerable people are safe, we have been busy visiting, ensuring that they have the right support in place and are able to get to get food and services they require. Look out for vulnerable people in your street and if you see something that does not seem right let police or Spelthorne Borough Council know.
