Local children’s charity, the Horse Rangers, has been celebrating the work of four staff members who between them have given seventy years of service to the Hampton Court organisation.

The Plough stood at the Walton end of Ashley Road, next door to the building that is now The Hub but was once Walton Infants School and later Walton Library.

The dental factory at Walton, positioned on Churchfield Road, was built in 1896 and was established by Edward Power, a Chemist’s son. Initially producing tools independently, the factory was soon taken over by Claudius Ash, Sons & Company. The Ash Company was a sprawling enterprise with factories and outlets all over Europe.

The residential streets off the Walton Road were never designed for cars. Too narrow and with limited off-street parking these urban thoroughfares are often difficult to navigate for both pedestrians and vehicles.

The Duke’s Head formed part of a group of buildings that dated back hundreds of years and were central to the character and identity of the old town. The buildings were cleared away for the creation of Hepworth Way and the redevelopment of the west side of Bridge Street in the 1960s.

Firstly, FOR YOU: The festival is a lovely social night out close to the town centre in a picturesque setting at Walton Cricket Club. It’s a perfect event to meet up with friends and enjoy some fabulous live music, a selection of scrummy foods and a glass of your favourite tipple.

Now in it’s 5th year the popular Walton-on-Thames Beer, Wine & live Music Festival is an annual summer event hosted at the picturesque Walton-on-Thames Cricket Club. A hidden gem of Walton located close to the town centre just behind Homebase.

75 years ago, on the 6 June, 1944, the largest seaborne invasion force in history set sail for France on a mission to liberate Europe.

Or “Boules pitch” to you and me! The official opening of the Hurst Park Petanque Terrain was on Sunday, 31st March at the specially constructed pitch on Hurst riverside, just south of the Sadlers Ride car park.
