The Holiday Inn, Shepperton, has been taking advantage of lockdown to undergo an extensive modernisation. Not one area of it will be untouched and the plans are definitely exciting.
We visited in June, on a hard hat tour of the premises. There are two defined areas of the building; the hotel, with new reception desk, and the leisure facilities, complete with new treatment rooms. The other side is dedicated to weddings and events. Flexible space means rooms can be transformed to suit the need of a wedding party. The main room ;The Set’ will cater for 250, but can also be divided into 3 separate spaces. More intimate meeting and events rooms are available for 12-16 guests and an exclusive bar area completes the space. There is a terrace area over-looking landscaped gardens and the pond and it looks set to be a magical place for afternoon tea.
Although Holiday Inn will still be running the upgraded hotel, the events and entertainment space has been completely rebranded. Storyboard offers a stylish and contemporary space to those looking for a new venue.
The restaurant itself will be rebranded ‘In the Wings’ and promises creative dining experiences, working with local suppliers to reflect seasonal produce.
The grounds themselves are also being landscaped and a wild flower meadow sown to offer brides the perfect photo opportunity. We can’t wait to see it all completed.
