From Ceaser to Benwell

Well, at least we have won one battle. With the ever-growing threat of two 6 storey blocks over-looking residential areas at the top of Green Street, the name of the unpopular development has been changed. It WAS to be named Ceaser Court in memory of Gerry Ceaser, as an honour to the memory of a man who did so much for local residents, green areas and the community of Sunbury on Thames. But the huge blocks, out of character with the local area, were not appropriate to his name. So the development reverts to Benwell House, which is what the previous single 4 storey structure was called.

Widow Zandra Ceaser, is happy to no longer have your husbands name associated with the building, and instead to enjoy the flowering

community boat at the bottom of French Street, which is his memorial boat. The boat has had fresh flowers recently and the next step is to paint it and put Gerry’s name on it.
