During this challenging period of isolation it is more important than ever to keep active, stay connected and do something positive. Peggy Pickering organises a competition theme for her Shepperton Artists group every year. This year it was to paint a picture de-picting one of the four seasons, which would be laminated to be made into a placemat. These were then to be given to Purple Angels dementia group as a Christmas gift, together with a a Christmas card designed by Peggy.
But lockdown meant it proved difficult to get her groups motivated. She therefore extended the competition also to the Walton Arts club, of which Peggy is a member too.
Shepperton Matters were asked to help with the judging. There may not have been many individual artists taking part, but the results were really well done.
Winners received art vouchers and the results can be seen here. We are sure you will agree that the quality really was excellent.
Remember how positive it is for well being to take part in something, to be creative and to challenge yourself. Getting involved helps deal with loneliness and isolation and gives you a goal.
