Let’s Change the World with a Smile!

Many mums out there may know Nikki Jenkins. She is a tough lady, who has been fighting cancer for quite a while and even then, thinking of how she can improve the lot of others. If anyone can support her, please do. Just buy a T-shirt or donate if you can. Contact info at the end of this article. The following are Nikki’s words.

“For anyone’s life that has been touched by the pandemic, those going through it, families separated and business’s challenged, “Smile”, we’ll get through this together and come out better for it, the other side!

For those who want to share the message with me – I’m running a half marathon with a SMILE T-shirt to lift the world’s spirits and raise funds for my buddies on the chemo ward and of course the NHS staff who do an amazing job every day.

I hope by raising these funds and wearing a SMILE – T-shirt, this will lift patients spirits and staff morale around the world and spread a little happiness to make the world a better place. Free endorphin medicine for all! 🙂

To my buddies recovering from Cancer and those doing a half marathon every day with the treatment. This one’s for you and look forward to you joining me next year, walking or running! I will be sharing the journey with you every step of the way, willing you to get better. Just know that you can, even on the tough days!

To selfless Art, (NHS chemo nurse extraordinaire) who was going to do a run with me before Corona, to help me raise funds and now needed on the front line. To you and all the amazing staff at The Royal Surrey in Guildford, my sincere love and thanks to you all.

To the people who are braver than brave, supporting their families with Cancer and in particular Paul, who offered to run with me, in spite of two hip replacements, his brother just having been diagnosed. Know that Cancer may be the diagnosis but it’s not the journey’s end.

To my special friend Fleur, who sat with me on every chemo session and now watching her father battle through his journey, he’ll get through it and it’s my turn now to hold your hand.

To the people looking through the windows unable to hold their families hands, put on the T-shirt for them to see and help them to smile. No one can change the diagnosis but we can make it infinitely better with a smile.

Most importantly, whoever you are and wherever you are suffering with Cancer, remember, you don’t have to be the diagnosis! “Every day may not be good, but there is something good in every day” Sincere gratitude and love to all the amazing people who helped me, thanks to you, I’m now able to spread the word with a “Smile”!
