Well, a couple of my predictions were cor-rect….But I have to say, I was blown away when it was announced that Village Matters had won Best Business in Sunbury once more. We had won in 2019, when we also came run-ner up Best in Spelthorne. Since then, we had not entered. This year we were up against (amongst others) Surplus to Supper. Knowing this charity very well, and supporting them in their marketing and volunteer recruitment, we thought it was a foregone conclusion that they would beat us.
So WOW!!!!! This award meant a lot.
But my long held belief was that Surplus to Supper must surely be in with a very good chance of winning Best in Spelthorne. And they did just that!! They also won Best Sus-tainable Business and Community Service Provide of the Year. A huge congratulations to them. It is a well deserved accolade. The competition, run by Spelthorne Borough Council, is a chance to have a look at the immense talent and innovation amongst businesses in the borough.
